Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications at the moment are open and will shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house that has a combined gross home earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence earnings won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are studying or intend to study at a public university or TVET nsfas check college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
